Virtual Haptic Simulation
The Simodont Dental Trainer provides the student the opportunity to experience the same variance of resistance one would experience when working in the dental environment while working in a virtual world. The ease by which one can repeat a specific exercise any number times not only enhances the learning but reduces the time it takes to learn a particular procedure. The high-quality true 3D images combined with the real-time objective scoring provides the necessary feedback for on-time learning and self evaluation.
Tooth Preparation Simulation
Students can apply the skills learned with the the various block exercises to every tooth preparation they will be asked to perform in the mouth. Operative, Prosthodontic, Endodontic, Pedodontic preparations as well as Implant Site Preparations can all be accomplished utilizing the Simodont Dental Trainer. Many of these offer the same machine scoring introduced with the introductory exercises. Students can track their progress as they achieve competency with each of the preparations.
Objective Scoring
Students can be taught how to utilize technologies available in every dental school to self-evaluate and score their own preparations. This not only teaches them a skill they can carry into their own practices, but helps to develop the critical eye necessary for quality dentistry. Students can evaluate their own work which permits the faculty to devote their time to teaching.
